PRE-VAC SALE REQUIREMENTS

Built for Buyers. Backed by a Proven Health Program.

At McDaniel Livestock Exchange, our Pre-Vac cattle are developed to perform. Every group in our program follows a structured health protocol designed to reduce stress, improve transition, and give buyers confidence in the cattle they are purchasing.

Our goal is simple: healthy, uniform, ranch-ready cattle that are prepared to go to work.

All cattle represented as MLX Feeder Select must meet the following standards.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

Weaning Requirement

  • Calves must be weaned a minimum of 60 days prior to sale date

  • Must be fully adapted to life off the cow

  • No bawling, fresh-weaned, or unweaned calves accepted

Vaccination Protocol

All cattle must receive the following health program:

Clostridial Vaccine (Blackleg)

  • 7 or 8-way clostridial vaccine

  • Two rounds required

Respiratory Vaccine

Coverage for:

  • IBR

  • Given according to label or veterinarian recommendation

Deworming

  • Required on all cattle

  • Internal parasite treatment required prior to sale

All booster vaccinations must be completed at least 30 days prior to sale day to allow immunity to build properly. Requirements modeled after proven preconditioned sale standards.

CATTLE MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the MLX program, cattle must be:

✔ Bunk broke – eating from a feed trough

✔ Water trough broke

✔ Knife cut or properly healed if banded

✔ Dehorned or clean polled

✔ Healthy, sound, and sale ready

Cattle showing signs of sickness, poor healing, excessive stress, or improper conditioning may be removed from the program at seller expense.

IDENTIFICATION

  • All qualifying cattle must carry an official MLX tag

  • Tags must remain in place through sale day

  • Lot information must match submitted health records

VETERINARY VERIFICATION

All cattle must be processed and verified through a licensed veterinarian or approved herd health program.

Health documentation may be required prior to acceptance.

WHY PRE-VAC?

Buyers continue to pay premiums for cattle that are:

  • Properly weaned

  • Vaccinated and boosted

  • Ready to transition with less stress

  • Bunk and water trained

  • Managed through a consistent health program

At MLX, we believe preparation matters — and cattle that are set up to succeed bring stronger demand and better results.
