

PRE-VAC SALE REQUIREMENTS

At McDaniel Livestock Exchange, our Pre-Vac cattle are developed to perform. Every group in our program follows a structured health protocol designed to reduce stress, improve transition, and give buyers confidence in the cattle they are purchasing.
Our goal is simple: healthy, uniform, ranch-ready cattle that are prepared to go to work.
All cattle represented as MLX Feeder Select must meet the following standards.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
Weaning Requirement

Calves must be weaned a minimum of 60 days prior to sale date

Must be fully adapted to life off the cow
-
No bawling, fresh-weaned, or unweaned calves accepted
Vaccination Protocol
All cattle must receive the following health program:
Clostridial Vaccine (Blackleg)

7 or 8-way clostridial vaccine
-
Two rounds required
Respiratory Vaccine
Coverage for:

IBR
-
BVD
-
PI3
-
BRSV
-
Two rounds required
-
Vaccinated according to label recommendations
Mannheimia / Pasteurella Protection

Must receive respiratory support vaccine for shipping fever prevention

Given according to label or veterinarian recommendation
Deworming

Required on all cattle

Internal parasite treatment required prior to sale
All booster vaccinations must be completed at least 30 days prior to sale day to allow immunity to build properly. Requirements modeled after proven preconditioned sale standards.
CATTLE MANAGEMENT REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the MLX program, cattle must be:
✔ Bunk broke – eating from a feed trough
✔ Water trough broke
✔ Knife cut or properly healed if banded
✔ Dehorned or clean polled
✔ Healthy, sound, and sale ready
Cattle showing signs of sickness, poor healing, excessive stress, or improper conditioning may be removed from the program at seller expense.
IDENTIFICATION

All qualifying cattle must carry an official MLX tag

Tags must remain in place through sale day

Lot information must match submitted health records
VETERINARY VERIFICATION
All cattle must be processed and verified through a licensed veterinarian or approved herd health program.
Health documentation may be required prior to acceptance.
